To type a special pinyin letter, simply type the vowel followed by the number of the tone.
For example, typing 'a1' will convert to 'ā' when typed.
Telling the time in Chinese is very similar in structure to English. Here you'll learn all aspects and different possible ways of saying the time in Mandarin Chinese, including the words for half past and a quarter past. You'll also learn how to specify a.m. or p.m. if necessary.
Since you already know the numbers up to 999 in Mandarin Chinese, you just need a little bit more vocabulary to master talking about the time of day. Although different systems were used in the past, you'll be glad to know that nowadays the clock in China looks exactly the same as in the Western world. The concepts are also very similar, such as using quarters and halves of an hour to give the time.
