When talking to his Chinese manager at a team dinner, Leo gets a chance to put into use the Chinese he has learned so far. The conversation moves onto family, and Dani explains the words for family in Mandarin Chinese. Leo learns the words for brothers and sisters. And he also learns the Mandarin words for children, including son and daughter.
Many couples in China will still have more than one child, as there are exceptions to the one-child policy. Common exceptions are for rural families, families of ethnic minorities, and families where the parents are themselves an only child. Residents of Hong Kong and Macao, as well as foreigners, are also exempt from the policy. Twins and other multiple births are another acceptable way of having more than one child.
