To type a special pinyin letter, simply type the vowel followed by the number of the tone.
For example, typing 'a1' will convert to 'ā' when typed.
Here you'll learn how ask for rice in a Chinese restaurant. You'll also learn how to order a bottle of red or white wine to enjoy with your meal. You'll also be able to say whether or not you can use chopsticks in Mandarin Chinese!
When eating a group meal in China, it is polite to try some of each dish ordered. Do not criticise any of the dishes, even if they are not to your taste. Drinking at a meal is an important part of the group bonding experience, although at more traditional or formal occasions women are generally not expected to drink alcohol. If you are a guy and do not wish to drink, it's best to give a medical or other serious reason as an explanation.
